U + D arquitectura is an Independent Design Studio based in Havana, Cuba.

It continues the previous AplusD study. It was founded in 2015 by the architect Universo García Lorenzo as its leading architect.

It is a creative project dedicated to design in the field of architecture essentially, covering the scales of design for various construction programs, public or private, for the conservation and renovation of the built heritage and new works.

Our concepts and ideas are aimed at the safeguarding and innovative development of Architecture from a perspective of historical, contemporary and cosmopolitan identity.

director, linked to architectural designs of hotels, cultural institutions, art schools, renovation of historic buildings; but in parallel, since 1999, a sustained independent creative exercise leading his design teams in the renovation of private houses in modern neighborhoods of Havana, as well as interior design for hotels and commercial tourist services.

U + D architecture develops private projects for new businesses in Havana, in central areas such as El Vedado, Old Havana, Miramar, in the renovation of houses and apartments for hostels and restaurants, among others. We have collaborated with internationally renowned entities in the development of projects for cultural institutions. Another creative aspect is linked to academic activity in the fields of design and the arts in general, focusing on the rescue of built cultural heritage and avant-garde architecture.
